Jennifer Silas, Georgia FSC - Gold II
Jennifer started skating at the age of 7 when her grade school started a twice weekly skate day. She learned by watching and copying until age 12 when her parents started her in the local figure skating club's US Figure Skating Basic Skating Program. Through Jr. and Sr. High school she passed tests up to Juvenile Freestyle, Bronze Dances and 1st Figures. Her home club was not a competitive club so there were never any competitions, but there were huge show productions and Jennifer was awarded a solo in the show of her Senior year. Jennifer stopped skating until 1994 and since then has finished her Silver dances and passed her Adult Bronze and Silver Freestyle tests, as well as got married and had two daughters (ages 4 and 1 1/2). She has also enjoyed competing as an adult. She is currently working on her double salchow and passed her Gold Test on August 4, 2002! Jennifer was the focus of a newspaper article covering the 2001 Peach Classic. |
